RECREATION OF HISTORICAL BATTLES
These works have been designed to TEACH HISTORY by means of an original and innovative system. For this purpose, we have selected the representation of the most important and decisive battles as our vehicle. Enjoy as you learn about history, right on your own table/desk.
First, we supply you with an extensive HISTORICAL NOTEBOOK, so that you can become familiar with the time period by reading its in-depth information: the historical environment, the background, the preliminary as well as subsequent movements of the battle and its historical consequences, all accompanied with detailed illustrations and maps.
Once you have become thoroughly familiar with the time period, you may then assemble the SCALE-MODEL OF THE BATTLE. To facilitate this process, we supply easy-to-assemble figures with plastic bases, which faithfully depict the uniforms of the participating armies. These figures are then placed on the detailed map of the battle zone. The figures, maps, and accessory elements have a sturdy design. The games components are stable and pleasant to move, since the plastic bases provide excellent stability.
After the magnificent scale-model has been set up and once the figures have been deployed in their historical locations, you may now begin the RECREATION OF THE BATTLE and where appropriate, the CAMPAIGN. In our opinion, this is the truly innovative feature and we have invested a lot of time and energy in the documentation and historical accuracy of its setting. By means of its coordinates system and with the assistance of the RECREATION GUIDE, you may move each figure one by one, thus recreating the historical movements of the units, with preliminary comments regarding each move. In this way, once the recreation has ended, you will have the sensation of having experienced the battle from “a bird's eye view” and you will perfectly understand its development.
Finally, although we stress that the objective of this work is education, we can't resist providing you with an opportunity to "change history". For this purpose, we have created a set of HISTORICAL SIMULATION war-game rules, taking advantage of the scale-model's exceptional components. They are included with the accessory items. Indeed, we have created a comprehensive work, with an impeccable innovative design, which is easy to set up and use, with the option to enjoy it ON A SOLITARY BASIS OR WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY. It has been designed for both traditional history buffs to serve as an excellent addition to their library as well as for persons who have expressed an interest in this topic for the first time.
TRAFALGAR 1805
VOLUME II OF THE SERIES: "NAPOLEONIC
BATTLES"
On the 18th of October 1805, Admiral
Nelson wrote in his diary: “Good weather, an East wind; the combined fleet
cannot possess better conditions to set sail”.
Villeneuve and Gravina departed from the
Port of Cadiz on the following day, setting their course to the Strait of
Gibraltar. With the barometers announcing an imminent storm at dawn on the
21st of October at approximately 20 miles to the Southeast of the Trafalgar
Cape, with a mild West-Northeasterly wind and westbound waves, the battle is
inevitable. For over 12 hours, the best and most powerful Naval Fleets of
the age measured their forces in a decisive combat which changed the course
of history. Spaniards, British, and French sailors displayed heroic examples
of valour, courage, and sense of duty. It was an intense and confusing
engagement where Lord Nelson's brilliance shined in his final performance
and the blood of countless Spaniards, with the dreaded awareness that their
destiny was sure death, and comprises one of the most memorable pages of our
history.
The high seas would not witness a
confrontation of such epic proportions until Jutland; history would not
experience another naval battle of such decisive importance until the major
aero-naval combats in the Pacific.
